It seems I’m a bit late to jump on the Geocaching bandwagon. There’s a somewhat interesting story about the way I got involved with it and how that all has to do with the creation of this blog.

There’s a new browser in development, called Flock. It’s what the kids are calling a “social” web browser. It intends to keep up with the web renaissance where the other more popular browsers have fallen behind, so there are some innovative functions built in. One of those is integration with del.icio.us, an online social bookmarking system. I never used del.icio.us before I began using Flock, and it was by browsing tags on del.icio.us that I learned about geocaching.

As a member of the Flockstars mailing list, I learned that WordPress has decided to give away WordPress blogs to Flock users. I already have a couple of Blogsome blogs, which use WordPress for content management, and I was running WordPress on my own web server before I cancelled my hosting plan. So, I’m a big fan of WordPress, and I’m glad that those guys have taken an interest in Flock.

Now I’ve come full circle. I’m creating this blog, which I was able to get for being a Flock user, in order to discuss geocaching, which I learned about through my use of Flock. See that? Flock has already changed my world.
